December 7th, 2010 Entry 19
I believe that advertising is very important in our country. I believe that without the widespread advertising targeting specific groups of people because without people buying goods our country would still be stuck in a horribly Depression. People should realize that without advertising a lot of people wouldn't have jobs. There are graphic designers, journalists, cashiers, builders, businessmen and women all involved in this thing that is advertising. To be honest, the same people who are afraid of advertisement probably wouldn't even have jobs without it. Yes, it is everywhere, but again if it wasn't posted where people could see it no one would know the good that it is advertising is out there. You hear about it from someone who had seen it somewhere. That's still advertising. Some commercials are shallow to other companies and there are attacks on other goods that are "not as good" as the one being talked about. Some tactics are good others are cruel, but it can be very good for business.

November 16 Entry 16
I think that the idea of requiring students to complete community service hours is absolute ludicrous. Some students already feel that they are imprisoned by how much time they spend working on school involved things, adding another thing to that list that they must do could make the dropout rate skyrocket. That would be my biggest fear. The dropout rate is already too high, and making school even more so a place that kids don't like to be would most likely cause them to want to drop out. Another thing, some kids just don't have the TIME for it. A lot of the students here at Central City are involved in multiple things plus a lot of them have jobs, where would they find the time to complete this community service? They have to be able to have some time to themselves, don't they?
I say all of these negative things about this, but it doesn't truly apply to me, I already work at the North East Linn food bank, granted it's only two nights a month that I have to go in, but before then we have to get the groceries, and for holidays and stuff we have to make sure to have the turkeys, hams, cranberry sauce, etc. Around Christmas we send a list of ages of kids whose parents can't get them many gifts and have people buy them some things off of that list, if not all of the kids are taken care of, my grandmother, Susan, and I have to take it upon ourselves to get the rest. So again, I think it's very time consuming and I don't think the students truly have the time to do community service.

11-19-2010 Entry 15
"You are walking home and cut through a cemetary late at night. Describe your experience."
I was walking home from a friends house one night and it was very dark, there was an overcast so I couldn't see by the light of the stars or the moon. The part of town that we live in has no street lights and it's nearly impossible to see. I decide to go the way that I normally do, even though it's sure to be creepy. I cut through the old cemetery. By old I mean very old. The newest body that was buried here was over a hundred years ago. Sometimes I think my friends and I should have a séance and try to conjure the spirits and ask them how they died. I enter the cemetery and everything is absolutely quiet, as it should be where the dead lay for all eternity. I've taken about ten steps when I here someone following me. There are heavy, yet hollow footsteps. Soon I can here a ragged breathing too. I start to find this really cool, I then remember that I have my camera. I stop walking and turn around and take a picture without flash. The image that shows up was awesome. There was a full bodied apparition right there in the image on the LCD screen of my digital camera. Talk about creepy. Wishing now that I had a digital recorder too, I continue walking home, where I get online and go to the ghost adventures website and send them a quick email explaining my experience.

October 26 2010 Entry 14
Okay so wow, after waiting like ten minutes for my computer to work I’m finally able to start blogging. Here we go.
I’m going to Write a poem about How Cold I am currently.
Freezing skin
Blistering Cold.
Chilling Wind.
This is getting Old.
Dampened Air
Cozy Fireplaces
Glistening Snow
Can’t go places.
Stuck in the winter
No sight of spring.
It’s almost Christmas
Cheer this should bring.
It doesn’t bring cheer
It brings colds and flu.
It makes people mad,
it makes people blue.
Coldness is overrated
Let’s end this stuff now.
I really wish we could,
but no one knows how.
Snowmen and Snow angels
Making children cheer
As parents sip cocoa
out the window they peer.

October 12: Entry 13
It was a pretty calm day. All of the neighborhood children were being very genial today. Fall is rapidly approaching and they are enjoying one of the last few warm days before it arrives. The mothers are indoors baking goodies for their young and the fathers are outside raking up the beginning of the fallen leaves. 'Tis a lovely day. You can hear the light-hearted laughter of the children as they race to tag one another. No fights and no screams of terror can be heard. It's a very good day. The benevolent senior citizens are sitting on their porches enjoying the light breeze. Mothers bring out lemonade or Kool-aid for the children. The fathers are heading indoors to wash up and then enjoy some good old television. The mothers go back in and start up dinner for their families. The kids head home for the night ready to get some food in their stomachs and head for bed. But is there something lurking in the darkness? An unforeseen phantom that's going to find someone somewhere at the wrong time and capture them and keep them for all eternity, committing them to their horrible army of the undead?

October 7: Entry 12.
It's a dreary day, Zach was suffering extreme ennui. Unfortunately his congenial girlfriend was out of town this weekend so he didn't have relieve him from his tedious chores. He's a pretty aloof person and doesn't talk to many people. The ominous feeling the clouds were giving off was soothed when Ryan finally cajoled him into going to town. He overzealously walked to Ryan's house because he was so ecstatic that he had something to do. The clouds clear up and bit and the day seems to go better. The weekend ends with a fun time and Zach was happy.
Okay, so I had to write a story with my vocabulary words, that's what I came up with. I'm surprised at how well it worked together. Very shocked actually. I've been listening to the Black Veil Brides a lot more recently and I really want to go to their show in Iowa City on the 26th of this month but I can't because not only is it a Tuesday, but my grandma says I can't go to anymore shows this year because I've already gone to eight. I say bullcrap, I pay for the tickets, why can't I go? I'd even be driving, I'll have my license then. Gr. Irritating stuff.

October 5: Entry Eleven
Would you feed your child a giant tub of lard? No you wouldn't. Then why would you feed them fast food? Why would you put that amount of fat and grease in your body? If you want to die before your fiftieth birthday then you go ahead and eat all of that Kangaroo meat. Yeah, it's not beef people! It's KANGAROO! Why would you kill the cute little kangaroos to eat them?? What the heck? You're going to make your child get some heart or stomach disease, think about this, DIABETES PEOPLE! What kind of people are you??
This will be you if you eat fast food!!!
That is All.
Now I shall write about something completely different.
Last night I was going to the bathroom and I looked down and there was this gigantic spider crawling out from underneath the toilet! It was like over an inch in diameter! I could see it's fangs! Anyway, it crawled away and went under the drier. A few hours later when my brother-in-law was changing the laundry it crawled out from underneath the drier and scared him. Now, Derrick, well he's deathly afraid of spiders. He screamed like a girl and ran out and tripped over the baby gate that we have set up for their dog. It was funny. Then my sister went in and squished it. The End.

Sept 30: Entry 10
Homecoming week:
Monday was Hippie day, I wore these hippie glasses they were pretty cool.
Tuesday was Raider Day, I raided Olivia's closet, I wore her zebra skinnies and purple Metallica shirt.
Wednesday was Pajama Day, I wore my penguin pants and Brian's old work shirt.
Thursday is Color War day, I'm wearing all read. Red make up and everything. I'm super happy about how many kids in my grade dressed up.
Tomorrow, Friday is Spirit day, obviously I'm going to wear Red and Black. Just wait, it's gonna be awesome.
I'm so excited for the Homecoming dance. I can't wait to see Brian. I can't wait for him to see my in my dress with my hair curled and my new shoes that he hasn't seen yet, and oh I'm just so excited. Then Sunday is the ALS walk that I have to help Brian with. I'm excited about that too, especially since I won't be in huge amounts of pain.
These are my homecoming shoes. I love them so much. They were so worth the 64 dollars I spent on them.
It was a bleak and windy October day, Olivia, Laura, Paige, and Liz were at a campground just hanging out after an Ice Nine Kills shoe. It's nearing Samhain, and with Spencer Charnas being Satanic he needs to find a virgin to sacrifice to Lucifer. He, unbeknownst to the girls, follows them to the campground. He attacks them near midnight and takes Laura. He kidnapped her, he sacrificed her to his Lord. She is no longer human. She must feed on human flesh for the rest of her miserable life.

September 28 Entry 9
Okay, so last Friday night Laura Campbell, Allison Campbell, Paige Howe, and I went to see the bands Shoot the Moon, Marcato, easteighteen, Index Case, Mindrite, and Destrophy in concert at People's Court in Des Moines, Iowa. These pictures are ones that I took at the show. The first is of one of the guitarists of the band. His name is Erik Tisinger. The second picture is of the lead singer/rhythm guitarist Ari Mihalopoulos. The night was amazing. I got tons of awesome pictures, some cool merch, a water bottle from the Mindrite drummer, a guitar pick from the guitarist of Mindrite, a pick from Ari, a drum stick from the drummer of Destrophy (Joe Fox), and a Jägermiester shirt from the other guitarist from Destrophy (Bruce Swink). All in all it was an amazing night. I don't think it could have been any better than it was. Well, it could have been better, if we would have been able to stay at the after party and hang with the guys and their girls longer. But since we were all under 21 we couldn't. I met some of the guys from the other bands and they were all really cool dudes. Very down to earth and easy to talk to. I'm friends with all of them now on Facebook, and I think everyone should check out the bands, even if they aren't into rock. All of the bands have at least one softer song and all of them are very well written.

September 23. Entry 8.
FREE WRITE!
So I'm going to write about tomorrow and Phil Tschenaniuk.
So tomorrow is the Destrophy concert and I'm sooooooooooooo excited! It'll be the second time this year that I've seen them. I can't wait to see Phildo again. He's my mini golf buddy and the bassist of the band. I was talking to the drummer, Joe Fox, last night and he was surprised to find out that Laura, Paige, Allison, and I are driving all the way to Des Moines to see them. He's excited to see us as well. I know Laura is excited to see Ari again, I don't know about Tara though, if she'll be there. Hopefully, they won't be all over each other again. It was a little gross last time. I'm still sad that Phil and Sara broke up. :( They were so cute together, but I guess some people can't handle long distance relationships. It's a sad fact, I know how much they care for each other, and I'm sure if given the opportunity to start over they would.
So needless to say, today will probably go pretty slow, but not nearly as slow as tomorrow will since I"m so excited for this concert.
I love Destrophy.
Happy anniversary to Mrs. Strand, and happy birthday to: Matt Hardy, Mikayla Hartl, and Mrs. Strand.

Sept. 21, 2010. Entry 7th.
"A friend is one who knows you and loves you just the same."
Elbert Hubbard.
Friends, a simple word worth so much more than people ever realize. Without friends a society would be wracked with turmoil and despair. Such as this, the quote by Elbert Hubbard, "A friend is one who knows you and loves you just the same" is true. If a someone knows you completely and can still be there for you in your turmoil and heartbreak then they and only they are a true friend. Friends are not people who are there for you in your happiness and prosperity. Friends are people who can stand beside you on a sailboat and weather the storm with you, be your shoulder to cry on. Your rock to hang onto. Without friends, what would a world be? A soulless place full of deceit and gray. Without friends our world as we know it would be forever changed. Our world of many prisms of colors would be reduced to a bleak and colorless world of blah. It is this and only this that makes me cherish, worship, and be forever thankful for my friends. In this world in which we live in, what

Sept 16 Entry Six!
I think communities should impose a relatively lenient curfew if they feel like they have to impose one at all. If there is a bad enough problem it would be understandable, but I'm afraid by making them have to be in by a certain time would just anger the teenagers even more and make them act out even more so than before. Just because you impose a curfew doesn't mean you'll stop the problems you have with the kids. You have to enforce it, regulate it, and make sure parents cooperate with the authorities. Some parents don't really care what their children do and let them do what they want when they want. If you make this a mandatory thing, will the parents follow through with it? It's doubtful.
It's a sad reality that's becoming stronger and stronger, children and parental relationships are changing. Parents want to be more friend like than authoritative. We need to be able to get parents to act more like adult figures than teenagers and adolescents before we can expect their children to.

September 14: Entry Five
It was a nice day for late autumn. Just chilly enough to give you that autumn's leaving and winter's coming feeling. It's nearing the end of November. Unfortunately with that means the dreadful day of death that occurs every year when thousands of people die horrible and brutal and bloody deaths. We've tried to stop her. We've locked her up far away, but she's gotten back each and every time. Beth Lange: the evil adolescent eater. She eats the intestines of teenagers in eastern Iowa. The entire town of Monticello, Iowa's teenagers were eaten last year. This year, we're afraid she'll move on to Anamosa. It started with her step son Brian. First she ate his arms, leaving giant, gaping wholes in his limbs, she then moved onto his abdomen where she stuck her long, yellow, and razor sharp canines into his flesh. She ripped and tore the skin, splashing and spraying blood throughout the room. She keeps eating, and she keeps gaining weight. We're afraid that she'll never stop. Not until she explodes...

September 9th: Entry Four
I believe that failure can lead to success in a sense that you have to go through hard times to get to what you want to be. Everyone fails in life, everyone makes a few mistakes. We're merely humans, nothing we do can be absolutely perfect. Imagine a world where everything was perfect all the time. How boring would that be? Our failures are what makes us remain human. Without them we would become a society of dullness. Thinking of it makes me want to jump up from my seat and scream something at the top of my lungs. Without failures people wouldn't know how to correct their mistakes or become independent enough to live their own lives. We would remain stagnant as a whole society. Who would really want to become nothing more than a mindless being walking around thinking what society wants? It's pretty strange. Sort of an oxymoron. Successful Failure. Sounds like a cool band title or something. Live life to the fullest. Don't be afraid to make mistakes. If people can't handle them, remind them that they too have made mistakes in their lives.

August 31: Entry 3.
I'm against it because students get tired of the homework and getting up early. This idea of adding another year of high school is ridiculous. I love school and I have a hard time getting through everyday, so adding another year? I would get fed up with it, and I'm sure other kids would as well. What are we expecting? Students are spend 12 years in school? Why add another to make it 13? Thirteen is an unlucky number anyway, so why take the chance? Imagine if someone had straight A's all through school and then got to their 13th year and flunked? Not only would you have to add another year, you would have to add more classes and that means you have to hire more teachers or make room in your budgets. In the world right now, school's can't do that. They can't afford to add anything else. Some teachers would probably go crazy, they have a hard time coping with the work they have to grade as well as the students. Some students are hard to put up with and making them have to be with those kids for another year? What would we call it anyway? We have freshmen, sophomore, junior, and senior already. What would the fifth year of high school be called? Who knows? I'm sure it'll be brought up and eventually be shot down. Honestly, like I said earlier. We can't afford it as a nation.

August 27. Entry Two.
My utopian world would be a place where I could go to concerts for free. Any band I would want to see, even if a member of the band was deceased or the band was no longer a band they would all be there. For instance, I would probably have Avenged Sevenfold play and Jimmy 'The Rev' Sullivan would be there even though he died last December. I can imagine what it would be like. To be backstage at an A7X concert...partying with the band after the show. Getting to know each member on a personal level. That would be amazing.
If I knew one person was suffering because I had my personal utopia I would wonder who it was, and depending on who it was would decide whether or not I would continue to enjoy my utopia. Even then I would try to track down the person and talk to them and try to make their suffering a little better by helping them enjoy my utopia with me. For example, if I knew that someone I didn't know way over in Japan was suffering because of me, I would fly to Japan and find the person and try to make them feel at ease as much as they could. I don't like people suffering, but I wouldn't be suffering any longer in my utopia so I wouldn't want to go back to the world I came from and suffer once again, either.

August 23: Entry One
Yeah, so we don't really have anything to write about. I don't have anything to write about. I feel like I should not talk about any teacher or any students. Sooooo I'm going to write about the new creation I've come up with. A Squirrel-Pig-Giraffe-A-Saur. :) It's a pig and a squirrel and a giraffe and a dinosaur. :D Who woulda thunk it? Ha-ha. I've spent to much time in the south. That's definitely the only explanation I can come up with for that. I have a severe need to draw a squirrelpiggiraffeasaur but I can't draw it on here. :( That makes me very, very sad. Pobre Liz. :(
Me llamo es Liz. Me gustan muchas costas. Soy de Cuidad Central. Mi madre es stupido y mi padre es stupido también.
There is your Spanish for today. NOW I will write about Avenged Sevenfold.
MS= Matt, SG= Synyster, ZV= Zacky, JC= Johnny, Rev= Jimmy.
MS= Yo, Johnny! Where did the rest of the guys go?
JC= What are you talking about, Matt? The guys are behind you. Well, Jimmy and Syn are...
SG= Yeah, man, why don't you pay attention more? I mean Jimmy almost died last week and now you don't even realize when we're right behind you? What kind of friend are you, Matt?
MS= You know what, Syn, I don't like your attitude. I'm putting you in time-out.
SG= Man, I hate getting put in time out...it makes me feel like. Wait, what?! You can't put me in time-out! I'm 28 years old, man!
